Kaer meters work in credits. A credit buys the agent's actual compute and model time, measured per run — a quick answer costs a sliver, a long build with heavy model time costs more. Your plan includes a monthly pool of credits; this page is where you watch it, top it up, and keep spend boring.
How credits work
Every run — a turn, a workflow execution, an automation firing — is metered on what it actually used: compute and model time. You never pick models or price tiers per task; Kaer routes across its stack of frontier models automatically, and the cost of whatever a run used lands on that run.
Each run's credit cost is visible in Activity, so spend is always traceable to specific work. "Where did the money go?" is a filter and a click, not a mystery.
What each plan includes
| Plan | Price | Monthly credits |
|---|---|---|
| Starter | Free | Free daily credits |
| Core | $22/mo, or $18/mo billed yearly | $20 |
| Pro | $112/mo, or $90/mo billed yearly | $100 |
| Enterprise | Custom | Custom |
Yearly billing is a 20% discount on the monthly price. Mail is separate: each connected mailbox is a per-mailbox add-on on any paid plan — see Mail AI.
Top-ups and hard limits
Two controls sit around the monthly pool:
- Top-ups add credits when a month needs more than the plan includes — a one-off purchase, not a plan change.
- Hard limits cap total spend. When a limit is reached, work stops; nothing runs past the ceiling you set. They are configured in Settings.
When credits run out
The agent pauses and says so. Mid-task, it stops and tells you it is out of credits rather than quietly continuing on billable time. From there you top up, wait for the monthly reset, or change plan — but the decision to spend more is always explicitly yours. This is the rule everything on this page serves: nothing silently bills.
A worked example
You are on Core with $20 of monthly credits. Mid-month, a heavier week of workflow runs empties the pool faster than usual, and the agent pauses mid-run: out of credits. You open Activity, see exactly which runs used what, and decide the work is worth it — a small top-up finishes the job.
Next month you either keep the top-up habit, or take it as the signal to move to Pro, where the included pool is $100. Either way the decision was made by you, in daylight, with the numbers in front of you.
Cancelling
Cancel a month-to-month plan at any time from your settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you keep what you paid for, and you are not billed again.
Good to know
- Do unused credits roll over? No — the included pool resets monthly. Size the plan to a typical month and use top-ups for the spiky ones.
- What do viewers cost? Nothing in credits — watching work spends none; see Team.
- Where did a specific charge come from? Every run's cost is in Activity — filter, then click through to the trail.
- Choosing between plans? The full comparison is in Plans and Pricing.
