Computer gives Kaer a machine of its own. Use it when a chat reply is not enough: working through a website, handling files, writing and running code, or a long job with many steps. You describe the task, Kaer provisions a machine, plans the work and sees it through while you watch.
Launch a task
Open Computer
Go to app.kaer.ai/computer. New task in the top bar brings you back to the launcher at any time.
Describe the task
Type the goal in Describe the task. Say what done looks like: "Pull last month's orders from the CSV, chart revenue by week, and give me the chart and a one-paragraph summary."
Pick a kind (optional)
Choose the kind that fits so Kaer starts with the right setup. See the table below.
Add files or references (optional)
Use + to attach files or context, or drag files onto the composer. Type @ to reference something by name.
Launch
Press Enter. Kaer creates the machine, plans the work and opens the project so you can follow it.

Follow the work
The project page shows the work live. You can:
- Watch without touching anything.
- Send a message to steer it.
- Take the controls yourself.
Take over the computer
When you take over, Kaer waits. When you hand back, it continues from what it sees.
Find a past computer
- Projects lists every computer in the workspace. Search by name, or filter by status and kind.
- Activity lists computer runs in the workspace.
- Computer sessions also appear in History under Computer.
Create your first computer
If you have never used Computer, the page shows Create your first computer with two options:
- Describe a task puts the cursor in the composer so you can launch with a goal.
- Create manually creates an empty computer named "New computer" that you can open later.
When to use Chat instead
Short writing, summaries and questions belong in Chat. Reach for Computer when the work has to happen on a machine.

Common questions
Does Computer cost more than Chat?
Computer work draws on your credits like other metered work. The Usage page in Settings shows spend by surface.
Is my laptop involved?
No. Each computer is a separate machine created for the task.
